Workshop on ‘Minority Scholarship’ Inaugurated by Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar

Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar, President Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar, inaugurated two day workshop on Minority Scholarship organised at Khalsa College, Patiala in which all the Principals and teachers of SGPC Schools and Colleges participated. The workshop was organised with the aim of making the teachers aware of different scholarships like minority scholarship and other scholarships run by Punjab Government so that the students can gain advantage from these scholarships under the guidance of teachers. During the Inaugural session of the workshop, Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar addressed all the Principals and teachers of SGPC schools and said that the institutions run under SGPC, Sri Amritsar have different responsibilities than other institutions. The students of these schools should be guided in such a manner that they are able to gain the knowledge of Gurmat and Sikh religion along with basic education. Prof. Badungar also said that the SGPC schools are situated at sacred places and are run under the names of great personalities. The Principals and teachers should acquire the knowledge of the rich sikh history and they should make the students aware of their proud historical background.  Prof. Badungar also gave hope to the Principals and teachers of CBSE and PSEB schools under SGPC that efforts would be made to relieve them of their problems concerning the administration.

Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal Khalsa College Patiala and Director Education SGPC, Sri Amritsar, congratulated all the Principals and teachers of SGPC schools and colleges for their excellent results this year. He said that it is an honour for us that a highly intellectual person like Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar is leading SGPC schools and colleges. The staff members of SGPC schools and colleges should also fulfill their responsibilities by doing hard work. The students studying in SGPC schools and colleges should be guided in such a manner that they adopt the rich values of their culture and serve their nation.

During the workshop, Assistant Director SGPC Schools, Principal Satwant Kaur, Chief Secretary S. Harcharan Singh,  Principal Mata Gujri College Fatehgarh Sahib Dr. Jatinder Singh Sidhu, Director Sports, Dr. Paramjeet Singh Saroa and Deputy Director Edcuation,  Dr. Vandana Narula  were present as special guests. The stage compeering was done by Principal Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College Anandpur Sahib, Dr. Kashmir Singh.
