World Hypertension Day observed at Baba Farid Group

Bathinda-Baba Farid Group of Institutions has dedicated this year ‘2018’ to Health Awareness’ for  which many different programs will have been organized throughout this year to educate people about health care. Under the series of these programs,  ‘World Hypertension Day’ was observed at the Baba Farid Group of Institutions, in which, Dr. Aman Salwan, MD, DNB (cardiology) from Delhi Heart Institute and Multispecialty Hospital, Bathinda was especially visited BFGI campus to give information about the hypertension and heart diseases.

B.D. Sharma, Deputy Director (Activities), BFGI while welcoming the Dr. Salwan, said that due to busy life, every man is mentally stressed and suffered from many diseases like hypertension, Sugar etc. He said that everybody needs to be aware of hypertension today.

Dr. Aman Salwan said that due to high blood pressure and mental stress, a large number of people has been suffering from hypertension disease from the last few years. Due to this hypertension they have suffering from many serious diseases like heart failure, heart attack, mental health and kidney failure etc. He told that it is very important and necessary to check regular blood pressure for early signs of hypertension. He said that hypertension can be avoided by controlling blood pressure, yoga and physical exercise, eating good food and controlling body weight. Hyper tension increases with age, so blood pressure should be kept in check regularly and consultation with the doctor for high blood pressure. He has advised to eat fresh vegetables, fruits and not to use drugs.

Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, Baba Farid Group of Institutions said that due to lack of awareness about health we are becoming a victim of many serious diseases. Therefore, Baba Farid Group of Institutions has taken this initiative to conduct health awareness programs this year, to maximize health awareness.
