World University organises lecture on “Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji: Shanti Ate Manavta De Paigamber”

The University School of Law of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organised a lecture on “Shanti Ate Manavta De Paigamber”. The lecture was dedicated to 400th Birth Anniversary of ‘Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji’. Vice Chancellor of the University Dr. Prit Pal Singh, was the Chief Patron for the event. He while congratulating the Department for this event, elaborated upon the theme of the lecture. He informed that the SGPC has already approached UNO that the upcoming Human Rights Day should be dedicated to Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji.

On this occasion, Dr. Kulbir Singh Dhillion, Former Head and Dean, Department of History, Punjabi University, Patiala was the key note speaker. Dr. Dhillon introduced the students with the brief history of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur ji. He said that Guru Ji’s martyrdom teaches us the values of religious tolerance, Dharma and Protection of self-respect of the masses. Dr. S.S. Billing, Dean Academic Affairs, Convener of the event, also briefly explained the preaching of Guru ji and quoted several lines from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

World University organises lecture on “Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji: Shanti Ate Manavta De Paigamber”. Dr. Param Jeet Singh, Head, University School of Law, shared his views about how Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji was enlightened and how he raised his voice against the tortures of Mughals. At the end of the event,  Navneet Kaur, In-charge, Department of Law, presented the vote of thanks.
