World University organizes various events during the Shaheedi Sabha

Recalling the unique martyrdom of Mata Gujari , Baba Zoravar Singh, and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organized different functions on the Shaheedi Sabha/Jod Mela. During the Sabha, Free Physiotherapy and Homeopathy camps, Gurmat book exhibitions, Turban tying training, and exhibition of religious documentaries are organised.

A seminar on the theme of Martyrdom of Sirhind: In the context of religious freedom was also organised. Prof. Balkar Singh and Prof. Paramvir Singh from Punjabi University, Patiala were the honourable speakers. Dr. Sikandar Singh, Assistant Professor of Punjabi department of World University also participated as a spokesperson. In the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Pritpal Singh, Registrar, World University welcomed the speakers and audience. The speakers said that religious freedom is the basic right of every human being.  In the past, Many-a-times rulers imposed many religious restrictions on the people. The speakers emphasised that Sikhs have always made sacrifices for everybody’s religious freedom. Prof.  Sukhdarshan Singh Khehra, Vice-Chancellor of the University presided over the seminar and said that the supreme sacrifice of Shahibzadas and Mata Gurji is unparalleled in the entire world.

Prof. Sukhdarshan Singh Khehra, Vice-Chancellor of the University also inaugurated the Free Physiotherapy and Homeopathy Camps. The World University’s officials said that the main objective of the services being run by the University during the Shaheedi Sabha is to spread awareness amongst the masses, especially the youth so that they can be guided by the martyrdom of Mata Gurji ji, , Baba Zoravar Singh, and Baba Fateh Singh Ji  at Fatehgarh Sahib. The university’s top officials, staff members, and students took part in these activities. On this occasion the University’s Dean Research Dr. R. K. Sharma and Dean Students’ Welfare Dr. Sarpreet Singh, Teaching, and non-teaching staff were present.
