World University students achieved Grand Success in Competitive Exams

Number of students from Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University (SGGSWU), Fatehgarh Sahib have achieved grand success in the competitive examinations. In a recently announced results of National level Eligibility Test (NET-JRF) conducted by CSIR-UGC, New Delhi in December 2018, students from the Department of Chemistry, Harpal and Rupinder Kaur cleared the same with All India ranking 102 and 133, respectively.

A student from the Department of Physics, Shivam Miglani has achieved huge success with All India ranking of 11 in NET-JRF. Moreover, other students from the Department of Physics, Harpreet Kaur and Harjot Singh also cleared their NET-JRF. They all have done their masters in Physics (M.Sc.) and Chemistry (M.Sc.) from Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Batch 2016-18. All of them will be awarded a stipend of Rs 25,000/- + HRA per month by the University Grants Commission (UGC), for pursuing research during their PhD course. Moreover, numbers of students have also cleared other international and national examinations like that of GRE and GATE. Other students from the Department of Physics Amanpreet Kaur, Gagandeep Kaur and Rupindejeet Bains, Shivam Miglani have also, respectively, cleared the GRE and GATE Examinations.

On this occasion, Dr. Prit Pal Singh, Vice-Chancellor and Head, Department of Chemistry congratulated all the students and their families for their achievements. He informed that the University is maintaining higher teaching standards among students to nurture them with capabilities to help them keep achieving such sort of success in their lives. Dr. Tejbir Singh, Head, Department of Physics and Professor Incharge, Examinations, while applauding the students for the fruit of their hard work and pointed out that all the students are from different parts of Punjab. The students are feeling blessed and gave credit to the best teaching practices and well equipped laboratories of the University.
