2018-batch young IAS officer Varjeet Walia today formally assumed charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Patiala. He has taken over from Dr Preeti Yadav, who has been transferred as Managing Director, MARKFED.

After assuming charge, Varjeet Walia stated that his foremost priority would be to ensure the time-bound completion of all ongoing development works in the district in accordance with the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, and to ensure that the benefits of all flagship schemes of the Punjab Government reach the people at the grassroots level.
