Alert GRP officials recovered around 2 Kg of opium from Rajpura Railway Station, one person arrested

GRP (Government Railway Police) DSP Jagmohan Singh stated that under the directions of Special DGP Railways Shashi Prabha Dwivedi, the GRP team, led by SI Sukhwinder Singh, recovered 1 kg 900 grams of opium from Rajpura Railway Station and arrested one person.
Providing further details, the DSP said that on Platform No. 1, west end of Rajpura Railway Station, SI Sukhwinder Singh from CIA-2 GRP conducted a search of a person named Baljeet Singh, a resident of Rahon village, Police Station Sadar Khanna, Ludhiana district. During the search, 1 kg 900 grams of opium was recovered from him.
The individual has been arrested, and a case (FIR No. 22, dated 27-11-24) under Sections 18/16/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered at GRP Patiala. The DSP further stated that the accused was presented in court, and a one-day police remand was obtained for further investigation.
