SGPC to recover advertisement bill in crore from Badal, Dhindsa and others SAD leaders-Sikh Clergy

The Sikh Clergy has instructed the accounts branch of shiromani gurudwara prabandhak committee (SGPC) to recover Rs 90 lacs plus till date interest from the shiormani akali dal leaders for giving advertisements in various newspapers to defend the controversial pardon granted to Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim in 2015.
As per the instructions issued by the Sikh Clergy, the accounts branch will recover the amount from Sukhbir Singh Badal, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Daljit Singh Cheema, Hira Singh Gabaria,Sucha Singh Langah, Gurjant singh and Balwinder Singh Bhundar.
Earlier, the SGPC had placed the onus for the advertisements on its former president Avtar Singh Makkar and former chief secretary Harcharan Singh, saying Makkar issued orders for the ads and Singh executed the orders.
Then the advertisements were given to explain the pardon given to dera chief and also to control a flare-up and keep law and order situation under control as the pardon had not gone down well with the Sikhs.
