Sukhbir Badal’s assailant Narain Singh Chaura has Patiala connection

Narain Singh Chaura, 68 years old resident of village Chaura Bajwa in Dera Baba Nanak block of Gurdaspur district who came into limelight on December 4,2024 for making a failed attempt to hurt, kill shiromani akali dal leader and former deputy chief minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal has a connection with Patiala.
Narain Singh Chura remained a student of Punjabi University, Patiala and has done three MAs. Before that he did his schooling from Govt Higher Seconadry School, Dera Baba Nanak, Gurdaspur.
Sukhbir Badal’s assailant Narain Singh Chaura has Patiala connection. “Narain Singh Chaura is a triple MA and has done his post graduation in Punjabi, History and Political Science from Punjabi University” said Advocate Jagjit Singh, elder son of Narin Singh Chaura.
As per available information, Narain Singh Chaura is married and has two sons. His elder son Jagjit Singh is an advocate and his younger son is Baljinder Singh is a farmer.
The six-foot-two-inch strapping militant with a flowing beard was a religious preacher before jumping into militancy. He founded the Khalistan Liberation Army and also remained its chief.
Chaura, who was instrumental in the sensational 2004 Burail jailbreak — he was released on bail in April 2005.
As per reports, Chaura is the only top militant of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) living in India. According to police, Chaura had crossed over to Pakistan in 1984 and was instrumental in smuggling large consignments of weapons and explosives into Punjab during the initial phase of militancy. While in Pakistan, he allegedly authored books on guerrilla warfare.
As per reports, he has 21 cases registered in various police stations. Most of the cases are registered in the 80’s . In some cases he gets bail.
