Department of Computer Science of Punjabi University has launched its Alumni website

Students of Punjabi University, Master of Computer Application worked hard to develop website for making department alumni data public. A team of the students led by Vipen kumar has collected the data from various sources. Department of Computer Science was established in the year 1987. In its history, Department has run B.Tech.(CSE), M.Phil(CS), M.Tech.(CSE), M.Tech.(ICT), MCA (3 year), MCA(2 Year) (Lateral Entry) , PGDCA, MCA (2Year), B.C.A. (Hons.), Ph.D. (Computer Science).
Till date the department has into its credit about 5000+ alumni including all courses. Students analysed all the data available with the department, consulted all the alumni through various means like email, google forms, making personal calls. Many alumni have provided their updated data. Students collected their linkedIn profiles and put their latest information on the website. This is a continued process and in coming times, all alumni updated data will be uploaded on the website. Dr. Gagandeep, Professor and Head of the department had taken lead for this task. She informed that MCA students have done hard efforts for getting updated information about alumni and still they are in the process of collecting. The main objective of this was to increase the interaction of current students with their alumni. It will help them in their internships and placements. We have started inviting the alumni as per their convenient schedule for addressing students regarding providing guidance to students about their placements, preparation for placements, latest trends in industry and many more. She requested the alumni to provide their latest data to upload on the website. The alumni website weblink is available on the department official website http://csc.punjabiuniversity.ac.in/ . The team of students who worked on this project includes, Abhinash and Harmandeep Singh Saggu from MCA 3rd Sem and students from MCA Sem 1 includes Kanika Bhatiya, Naman Sharma, Varinder Kaur, Tanveer Singh, Kirandeep Kaur, Jasmeet Kaur, Naunidhi, Isha Saini, Vasudev, Himanshu, Simarnoor Kaur, Riya, Sukhdeep Singh, Purvak, Nandini Gabha, Jaskirat Kaur.
Department of Computer Science of Punjabi University has launched its Alumni website. Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Narinder Kaur Multani has congratulated head of the department for this initiative. She appreciated that this is true example of experiential and project-based learning in the line of NEP. The Registrar, Prof. Sanjiv Puri conveyed his best wishes for the success of this project leading to further up lifting of the department.
