Punjab Child Rights Commission takes serious note of assault on 10-Year-Old Boy; chairman meets child at hospital

Punjab Child Rights Commission Chairman Kanwardeep Singh has taken suo motu notice of the incident involving the assault on a 10-year-old boy in Rishi Colony, Patiala, after the news was widely circulated on various media channels. Today, he visited the injured child undergoing treatment at Rajindra Hospital to check on his condition. Following this, he held a meeting at the District Administrative Complex with Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav and SSP Dr. Nanak Singh, instructing strict action against the accused. Joint Director Rajwinder Singh Gill was also present at the meeting.

Expressing deep sorrow over this inhumane act, in which a hot iron press was allegedly used to burn the child, Chairman Kanwardeep Singh stated that the Commission will deal with such cases strictly. He directed the police to ensure the punishment for the culprits, emphasizing that no accused should be spared. He further assured that such incidents would not be tolerated, and exemplary punishment would be ensured for those responsible.

Chairman appreciated the swift action by the district administration and police, which not only ensured the child’s medical treatment but also led to the immediate arrest of the prime accused.On the occasion were ADC Isha Singal, DSP Manoj Gorsi, District Child Protection Officer Dr. Saina Kapoor, and District Program Officer Pardeep Singh also present.
