Farmers’ ended four month old protest at Rajpura after Agriculture Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal intervened

Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare of Punjab Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal today evening arrived at Rajpura (Patiala) and talked to the farmers who were protesting for the last four months at Fountain Chowk and ended their protest.
Talking to farmer’s leaders, the Agriculture Minister assured the protesting farmers that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is working with full sincerity towards the welfare of farmers.
Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal after meeting with farmer leaders Dr. Darshanpal, Gurdit Singh Dittupur, Harjinder Singh and other farmers said that “Punjab’s Seed Act is very weak, so it will be amended by the Punjab government very soon. Punjab government will take strict action against fake seed dealers and suppliers of counterfeit pesticides in the state.”
While talking to the media after the lifting of protest by farmers, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said “Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government is always sympathetic to the farmers and all the demands of the farmers protesting at Rajpura have been accepted.”
He further added that a demand was made by the farmers to solve the damage caused to the crops due to fake seeds of sunflower has also been solved.
Farmer leader Dr. Darshanpal said that “he is thankful to the Punjab government, which has assured that the Seed Act will be amended so that no one can sell fake seeds, fake fertilizers, medicines etc. He said that the farmers have ended the Rajpura dharna after the minister accepted their demands.”
