Rupnagar Police take a major action against drug smuggler by demolishing the building of illegal house

As part of the campaign launched by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drugs, today the Rupnagar Police and Distt administration took a major action and demolished the building of the illegally constructed house of a drug smuggler.

Giving information on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain and Senior Superintendent of Police Rupnagar Gulneet Singh Khurana said that following the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Director General of Police Punjab  Gaurav Yadav, a campaign was launched against drug smugglers in Distt Rupnagar.

Giving further details SSP said that 03 each cases have been registered against husband and wife, Salim Mohammad and Asha under the NDPS Act, resident of village Sadabrat, Nangal Road, Rupnagar, who are involved in drug business and in these cases, ganja and narcotic powder were also recovered from both the husband and wife.

SSP further said that they had constructed an unauthorized house with the money earned by selling drugs. The constructed unauthorized house was demolished today by the Municipal Council, Rupnagar with the help of the police.

He further said that by investigating the property built with the money earned by selling drugs, such action will be taken in the future too against drug smugglers so that Punjab can be made drug free.
