Punjabi University faculty suspended in sexual harassment case

Registrar, Punjabi University, Patiala has issued suspension orders of a Punjabi department assistant professor Gurjant Singh on immediate basis.
As per the orders, he is suspended after an internal report by ‘Profession and Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place cell’ , Punjabi University, Patiala has submitted an internal inquiry report to the university authorities.
Taking strong action, the university has issued a suspension orders and posted him at the office of Director, Punjabi University, Guru Kashi Campus, Damdama Sahib (Talwandi Sabo), Bathinda during his suspension period.
As per available information, large number of girls students of Punjabi department had complained against him for harassing them.
Meanwhile, Registrar, Punjabi University Sanjiv Puri could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
