Punjab to get its 17th Cabinet Minister on Thursday

Aam aadmi party government in Punjab under the command of Bhagwant Singh Mann is going to expand its cabinet in Punjab on July 3,2025 (Thursday) to induct newly elected Ludhiana Wesr MLA Sanjeev Arora. This will be the seventh expansion of the AAP government’s ministry in its three-year rule.
At present it is still unclear whether the government will induct new ministers into the 16-member Cabinet as Punjab can have up to 18 ministers in the Cabinet, including the Chief Minister. But speculations are rife that a lady MLA can be inducted in this cabinet expansion along with Sanjeev Arora.
As per available information, Arora will be sworn in as a minister at the Punjab Raj Bhawan on Thursday afternoon. There is also some speculation about the possibility of some ministers’ portfolios being changed.
As per sources, Arora may get key portfolios like industry, excise and taxation. With his induction there is a possibility of some ministers’ portfolios, position being changed. AAP supremo had promised cabinet berth to Sanjeev Arora who had left his Rajya Sabha seat for party’s senior leadership.
