JGND PSOU & Department of School Education conduct Online Sensitization Programme

On the directions of Anindita Mitra, IAS, Secretary, Higher Education, Punjab, and under the guidance of Prof. Rattan Singh, Vice-Chancellor, JGND PSOU, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala conducted Online Sensitization Programme on July 26, 2025.
JGND PSOU organized this programme in collaboration with the Department of School Education, Punjab. District Education Officers (DEOs) (Secondary Education) from various districts of Punjab attended the programme. The objective of the session was to sensitize DEOs for escalating Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) of Punjab. Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh, Vice-Chancellor, while welcoming the participants emphasized on collaborative efforts for accessible education.
Gurinder Singh Sodhi, PCS, Director of Public Instruction (Secondary Education), Punjab. Prof. Baljit Singh Khehra, Registrar (Officiating), JGND PSOU, elaborated on the vision and mission of the university and skill enhancement programme.
Dr. Karan Sukhija discussed the strategic implementation plan as per the directives issued by the Higher Education. Dr Amitoj Singh, Associate Dean Academic Affairs, said, “ Counsellor training sessions to align school education practices with current industry and market standards for equipping students with relevant skills will be conducted by JGND PSOU.”
