PSEB Engineers’ Association supports the genuine demands of employees regarding cancellation of July 17, 2020 order, Punjab government letter and restoration of Edge in pay scales of the Punjab Government, Payment of DA/arrears, old pension scheme , recruitment of regular employees to address critical shortage of manpower.
It may be added that agitated by what they called anti-worker and anti-pensioner policies, electricity workers have decided to go on a three-day mass leave , threatening to bring power department operations to a standstill. The current widespread resentment across nearly every cadre of PSPCL/ PSTCL is a direct result of the mishandling of legitimate issues by the management and the Punjab Government.
Ajay Pal Singh Atwal, General Secretary, said that the safety of power infrastructure is our highest priority but the genuine demands of employees deserve a timely resolution. PSEB Engineers’ Association in a letter issued today to management states that its members have been performing critical duties at various grid substations, generation, distribution to prevent any inconvenience to the public and to enable engineers to perform their duties safely, the board must ensure their safety .
It may be added that a great injustice and deliberate delay is being done to the newly recruited engineers ,who are being denied proper pay scale as per existing pattern and this action of management is not acceptable at all. Last year at the start of the paddy season PSEB Engineers Association deferred the agitation on assurance of early settlement of the issue

The Finance Department has unilaterally directed PSPCL and PSTCL to downgrade the pay scale of Power Engineers. This action amounts to a clear misclassification and misfitting of pay scales, effectively equating Assistant Engineers with Junior Engineers in terms of pay, and thereby undermining the dignity and professional standing of the engineering cadre.
Meanwhile PSPCL management has asked its employees to not leave the station and ensure all the services otherwise action will be taken against them.
