3 Free Tent City accommodation facilities set up for devotees at Sri Anandpur Sahib –Bains

On the occasion of the 350th Martyrdom Centenary of Hind Di Chadar, the Ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Punjab Government is, for the first time, providing free Tent City accommodation facilities at Sri Anandpur Sahib for devotees arriving from across the country and abroad to pay their respects in the sacred city of the Guru. These Tent Cities will be equipped with all modern amenities.

Cabinet Minister for Education, Information and Public Relations, and MLA from Sri Anandpur Sahib, Harjot Singh Bains, inspected the large-scale construction work of the Tent City and directed officials to further expedite the ongoing efforts. The Tent City booking will be done online, and each family will be able to book accommodation for two days.

The Tent City is being developed in three locations – 67 acres at Chandesar, 7 acres at Jhinjari, and 6 acres at PowerCom Ground.

At Chandesar (67 acres), the first Tent City will comprise 434 rooms, each fitted with 16 beds, and 264 additional rooms with 4 beds each. Apart from this, other arrangements for devotees’ stay are also being made. The Tent City will provide bathroom facilities, uninterrupted electricity and water supply, and a proper drainage system.

At Jhinjari (7 acres), 66 rooms with 16 beds each and 35 rooms with 4 beds each are under construction. Similarly, at PSPCL (PowerCom) Ground (6 acres), nine dormitories with 16 beds each and 90 special rooms are being prepared, specifically for devotees arriving from other states. All necessary comfort and convenience facilities will be available to devotees in these accommodations.

The Punjab Government is preparing these Tent Cities to accommodate around 15,000 devotees in total. A large number of devotees from India and abroad are expected to arrive at Sri Anandpur Sahib for the Shaheedi Centenary events, along with major Nagar Kirtans from different regions.

Harjot Singh Bains has been personally inspecting the sites regularly to ensure safety and availability of all essential facilities in the Tent Cities. For the convenience of devotees staying in these Tent Cities, 500 e-rickshaws and golf carts will be deployed to ferry them to and from the venues of the Shaheedi commemorations. The Tent Cities have been dedicated such as Chandesar Tent City to Mata Nanaki Ji, Jhinjari Tent City to Bhai Mati Das Ji & PSPCL Ground Tent City to Bhai Sati Das Ji. Devotees from India and abroad will be able to book their accommodation online for these Tent Cities.
