IEI in association with JGNDPS Open University organized National Seminar on Green Energy Technologies & Sustainability

Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala and Institution of Engineers (India), Punjab and Sunny Oberoi Vivek Sadan (A Futuristic University), Sri Anandpur Sahib collaboratively conducted National Seminar on “Green Energy Technologies and AI-Enabled Sustainable Chemical Processes.” The seminar, a part of the 40th National Convention of Chemical Engineers was held in Chandigarh on 06 December 2025 brought together leading experts to discuss emerging advancements driving the future of chemical engineering.
Dr. V.K. Rattan, Former Vice-Chancellor, GNA University, was the Chief Guest for inaugural session. Dr. Avinash Chandra, Professor & Head, Chemical Engineering, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala was Guest of Honour. Senior IEI leaders including Prof. (Dr.) T.S. Kamal, Er. S.S. Mundi, Dr. R. Bhima Rao, Dr. Shilpa Tripathi, Dr. Baljit Singh Khehra, Registrar, JGND PSOU and Er. Karnail Singh were also present.

Three eminent engineers — Dr. Kailas L. Wasewar, Er. Om Sahai, and Dr. Chinthapudi Eswaraiah — were honored for their distinguished contributions. Two young engineers, Dr. Vineet Aniya and Dr. Sourav Sengupta, received awards for excellence in research and innovation.
The event also featured the release of the Proceedings-cum-Souvenir and keynote lectures including the Dr. Acharya Prafulla Memorial Lecture by Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava (IIT Roorkee) and a State-of-the-Art Lecture by Prof. (Dr.) Sushil Kumar Kansal (Panjab University).
100 engineers, researchers, and students from across India attended the convention which highlighted collaborative pathways for sustainable technological progress.
