Government Degree College Ganderbal conducts PRC-cum-Special Lecture under FYUGP (NEP 2020)

The Department of Urdu, Government Degree College (GDC), Ganderbal, successfully organized a PRC-cum-Special Lecture under the ambit of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) course envisioned in the National Education Policy (NEP 2020).

The programme witnessed active participation from faculty members, students, and research scholars. During the session, three research students presented their research synopses before the PRC committee. The external expert and faculty members thoroughly reviewed the presentations and suggested necessary changes and improvements in their synopses to enhance the quality and academic standard of their research work.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal of GDC Ganderbal, Prof. Fouzia Fatima, appreciated the Department of Urdu for its academic initiatives and remarked that the college presently has only two departments offering research facilities — Zoology and Urdu. She described this achievement as a landmark development for the institution and congratulated the Department of Urdu for its continuous academic progress.

Head, Department of Urdu, Dr. Jamsheeda Akhter, appreciated the collective efforts and dedication of all the faculty members of the department, particularly Prof. Nusrat Nabi and Dr. Junaid, for successfully organizing the event.

The invited external expert, Dr. Mushtaq Hussain (Hyder), Associate Professor, Kashmir University, delivered a detailed special lecture on “Research Ethics and Methodology.” He guided students on various dimensions of research writing, ethical practices, citation methods, and research techniques. The students benefited immensely from the interactive session and gained valuable academic insights.

Dr. Jamsheeda Akhter efficiently coordinated the programme, introduced the objectives and significance of the PRC before the audience, and also moderated the session in a commendable manner.

The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Nusrat Nabi, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, the external expert, faculty members, and students for their active participation and cooperation.
