IIT Ropar Signs Strategic MoU with Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University

The Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Ropar has entered into a significant academic partnership with Veer Madho Singh Bhandari UttarakhandTechnical University, Dehradun, marking a new chapter in collaborative education and research between the two premier institutions.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar, and Dr. Tripta Thakur, Vice Chancellor, VMSB UTU, in presence of Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha, Secretary, Technical and Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhandestablishing a comprehensive framework for cooperation spanning multiple domains of academic and research activities.
The collaboration encompasses several key areas designed to benefit faculty, staff, and students of both institutions. The partnership will facilitate joint research projects with opportunities for co-authored publications and collaborative pursuit of research funding from external agencies. Faculty members from both institutions will work together to provide joint research guidance for doctoral, postgraduate, and undergraduate students, creating enhanced learning and research opportunities.
The MoU also provides for the joint organization of academic activities including short-term courses, seminars, workshops, conferences, expert lectures, faculty development programmes, and certification programmes based on mutual interests. Students will benefit from internship opportunities, certification courses, and other short-term programmes offered both online and offline for academic enhancement. The collaboration is expected to create valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, resource sharing, and collaborative research that will benefit the broader academic community.
This strategic alliance underscores IIT Ropar’s dedication to building strong networks within India’s higher education landscape and advancing its mission of excellence in science and engineering education, research, and innovation.
