IEI Bathinda Local Centre Celebrates World Engineering Day at Baba Farid College, Bathinda

The  Institution of Engineers (India), Bathinda Local Centre (BLC), celebrated World Engineering Day with great enthusiasm at Baba Farid College of Engineering & Technology. The programme was organized in collaboration with the host institution to mark the importance of engineering in national and global development.

The theme of the celebration was “Smart Engineering for a Sustainable Future Through Innovation and Digitalisation.” The event aimed to highlight the crucial role of engineers in building a sustainable, technologically advanced, and digitally empowered society.

The programme commenced at 10:30 A.M. with a welcome address by Dr. Jagpal Singh Ubhi, Chairman, BLC, Bathinda. This was followed by an inspiring address by Prof. Dr. Jagtar Singh Sivia, Chairman, ETDB, The Institution of Engineers (India), who emphasized the growing importance of innovation, research, and digital transformation in modern engineering practices.

Dr. Manpreet Kaur delivered the keynote lecture, sharing valuable insights on smart engineering solutions and their role in sustainable development. Dr. Jyoti Bansal, Guest of Honour, addressed the gathering and motivated students and professionals to adopt innovative approaches to solve real-world challenges.

The Chief Guest, Dr. M.P. Poonia, highlighted the significant contributions of engineers to national development and stressed the importance of continuous learning, research, and adaptation to emerging technologies.

The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour were felicitated during the ceremony. The formal proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Amandeep Kaur Sarao, Honorary Secretary, BLC, followed by the National Anthem. The programme ended with high tea.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, students, and engineering professionals, making the celebration meaningful, informative, and inspiring.
