Girl students shine at Government Bikram College of Commerce convocation

The Annual Convocation of Government Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala was held with great enthusiasm and pride on April 16, 2026. The event was conducted under the able guidance of the esteemed Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Kusum Lata.
The ceremony began with the lamp lighting ceremony followed by the traditional college dhuni, creating a solemn and dignified atmosphere. Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Kusum Lata in her address, she emphasized the importance of dedication, integrity, and continuous learning. She motivated the students to work hard and up hold the values of education.
A total of 342 students comprising of 231 girls and 111 boys were conferred degrees. Among them, 233 students received their Bachelor of Commerce degrees, 83 students were conferred Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) degrees and 26 students received their Master of Commerce Degrees.
What made this convocation special was that the degrees were distributed by all members of the college staff, reflecting a spirit of unity, cooperation and share responsibility. This approach by the college Principal highlighted the contribution every faculty member in shaping the academic journey of the students.
The Registrar of the college, Dr. Jaspreet Kaur along with the members of the examination team ensured the smooth conduct of the program. The stage was efficiently handled by Dr. Parmjit Singh and Dr. Reetu Kapoor. The others present were Prof. Vivek Kumar Sindhi, Dr. Paramjit Kaur, Dr. Rekha Rani and all teaching and non-teaching staff of the college.
The ceremony concluded on a patriotic note with the National Anthem, leaving the audience with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
