Sanjeev Arora is going to Europe along with the CM Mann to woo NRIs to invest in Punjab.
This is the second time in less than two years the central law enforcement agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided the residence of Punjab’s powerful AAP leader Sanjeev Arora.
Earlier in Oct 2024 the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had conducted searches at the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, than Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora, under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
As per available information, at that time the raids were held in a money laundering probe case as he was accused of fraudulently acquiring land worth crores in the name of his company. At that time the probe agency conducted raids at 17 locations across Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Delhi, including at the residence of realtor Hemant Sood.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had nominated businessman Sanjeev Arora, also known as ‘Sunny,’ to the Rajya Sabha from Punjab after forming the government in the state with a thumping majority in 2022.
Later, he resigned from the Rajya Sabha, contested the state assembly elections in June 2025, and won by a margin of more than 10,000 votes. The Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government inducted him into the cabinet, and since then, his ‘power’ graph has been rising, he is now one of the most powerful ministers in the state cabinet.
