President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) Harmeet Singh Kalka, in a strong worded reaction today said that the frustration is evident in the video message by former president Paramjit Singh Sarna which clearly indicates that whenever DSGMC receives any relief concerning schools or takes steps toward their development, Sarna finds it unacceptable and start leveling weird allegations.

He further said that Sarna’s attempt to raise questions regarding the 2006 matter are baseless, as Sarna himself was serving as the President of the Committee at that time. Kalka recalled that the responsibility to implement the 6th Pay Commission fell during Sarna’s tenure, yet it was not implemented even by the time of the 2013 elections, despite funds collected from parents being intended for this purpose.

Kalka alleged that during Sarna’s tenure, the financial condition of the schools suffered the most severe damage, the effects of which have not yet been fully remedied. He stated that the present gurdwara body has spent approximately ₹200 crore for the welfare of schools, a fact recorded on the walls of every gurdwara and school.

He also clarified that since 2013, no new staff has been recruited in the Guru Harkrishan Public Schools run under the Committee, whereas Sarna had increased the burden on institutions by appointing excess staff during his tenure.

Rejecting Sarna’s claim of leaving behind ₹123 crore, Kalka said that the truth in this regard can be verified from Sarna’s own associates of that time, against whom Sarna himself had lodged FIRs.

Dismissing allegations regarding the sale of properties, Kalka asserted that neither has any court made such an observation nor is DSGMC is considering any such move. He urged Sarna to exercise restraint and seriousness in his statements instead of spreading confusion.

Kalka added that the relief granted by the court to the DSGMC whereby it was allowed to proceed through mutual understanding with retired employees is a significant achievement for the Committee, yet this too appears unacceptable to Sarna.

He appealed to the Sangat to understand the facts and stay away from rumor mongering, emphasizing that the DSGMC has always remained committed to the welfare of gurdwaras and educational institutions.
