IEI Bathinda Local Centre and Rural Development Forum Organise One Day Seminar at Talwandi Sabo

The Rural Development Forum of The Institution of Engineers (India) in association with Bathinda Local Centre, IEI successfully organized a One Day Seminar on the theme “Modern Farming & Sustainable Agriculture Through Improved Irrigation Techniques” at Dayanand Ashram (Dharmshala), Talwandi Sabo on Wednesday.
The seminar focused on the importance of modern irrigation systems, water conservation, sustainable agricultural practices, and the role of technology in improving crop productivity and supporting rural development.
Prof. Baljinder Kaur, Chief Whip (Punjab Cabinet) and MLA Talwandi Sabo, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. She appreciated the efforts of the organizers in spreading awareness among farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture practices for the welfare of rural society.
Er. S.K. Banerji, IOFS (Retd.), FIE, Chairman BOG/RDF IEI, attended the seminar as Guest of Honour and highlighted the importance of engineering and technological interventions in the agricultural sector.
Dr. Jagtar Singh Dhiman, Vice Chancellor, GKU Talwandi Sabo, also attended as Guest of Honour and encouraged students, engineers, and farmers to work together for innovative and eco-friendly farming solutions.
The programme was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Jagpal Singh Ubhi, Chairman, Bathinda Local Centre, IEI, while Prof. (Dr.) Jagtar Singh Sivia, Chairman, Electronics & Telecommunications Division Board, IEI (India), emphasized the growing role of smart technologies and automation in agriculture.
During the seminar, renowned experts and scientists delivered technical lectures on various aspects of sustainable agriculture and modern farming practices. The invited speakers includes:
