CBI raids Punjab Vigilance Bureau head office, BJP leader’s residence in Punjab

As per initial reports, in a late night action, it is alleged that central bureau of investigation (CBI) has raided the head office of Punjab Vigilance Bureau at Mohali.
The bureau has raided the office in a bribery case and as per unconfirmed reports the reader of the DGP Vigilance Bureau, OP Rana has been picked up by the CBI as the probe widens in the bribery case.
As per initial reports, is is alleged that Rs 20 lakh bribery deal is under scanner, with Central agency reportedly recovered Rs 13 lakh during the operation. It is also alleged that deal was struck at a five star hotel through a middleman identified as Goel (Malout) .
SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia has tweeted that “ My sources reveals that vigilance DGP office has been sealed by the central agency after the raid. Vigilance chief is reportedly missing and currently his phone is switched off.”
As per reports, the bureau has raided the residence of BJP leader Raghav Goel at Malout, Punjab in connection with an FIR number 12/26 dated May 11,2026 PC Act registered at CBI, Chandigarh.
The CBI team under the command of DSP Pavit Singh of CBI Chandigarh reached the residence and began a detailed search of the building. According to sources, the officials are closely examining the documents and other materials found during the search, but no official statement has been issued by the CBI yet.
