Rupnagar DC holds meeting with political parties regarding Voter List Revision Drive 2026

The Election Commission of India has released the schedule of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) for the revision of the Voter List 2026, in view of which a special meeting was held today by District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Aaditya Dachalwal with the representatives of all the recognized political parties of the district at the committee room of the District Administrative Complex here.
Deputy Commissioner informed that for the SIR. In the first phase, the BLOs will visit door to door to fill the enumeration forms from June 25 to 24 July ,2026 and for this purpose, 696 BLOs, 71 supervisors, 03 EROs and other auxiliary election staff have been deployed in the district.
While discussing the rationalization of polling stations he said that new polling stations will be set up in place of the polling stations lying in dilapidated condition before July 24 ,2026.
Aditya Dachalwal said that the draft of the voter list will be prepared on July 31 ,2026 and the draft publication will be done and any person who finds any mistake or any other deficiency in the voter list can present his claim and objection to the BLOs fromJuly 31 to August30, 2026.After the settlement of all the claims and objections received, the final publication of the voter list will be done on October 1, 2026.
Deputy Commissioner appealed to the political parties to deploy booth level agents of their respective parties at the polling booths and said that they should give their full contribution to this campaign of SIR so that this work can be completed smoothly.

In this meeting, the President/Secretary/Representatives of all the recognized political parties namely Jarnail Singh Bhaowal from the Bharatiya Janata Party,Bhupinder Singh from the Indian National Congress, Bajinder Pandit and Gurdev Singh Bagi from the CPI(M), Ved Prakash from the Shiromani Akali Dal, Sardul Singh, Ajit Singh Bhaini and Advocate Charanjit Singh Ghai from the Bahujan Samaj Party, Sukhvir Singh from the CPI, besides the Election Tehsildar Palwinder Singh Bains and other officers and employees of the District Election Office were present.
