Haryana’s Saraswati created world record on Indian Punjab soil; broke Pakistan’s world record

Saraswati, a murrah breed buffalo from Haryana, created world record in milking by giving 32.66 litres of milk during the 14th PDFA International Dairy and Agri Expo 2019 at Jagraon in Punjab on Monday.

As per the officials, the buffalo created a world record and surpassed the world record set by a buffalo from Pakistan which had given 32.50 litres of milk.

Sukhvir Singh, owner of buffalo Saraswati,who hails from Litani village of Hisar district in Haryana said that he feels proud of the fact that his buffalo has created a world record in milking.

He further said that he had bought the buffalo, around three years back in Kurukshetra at a price on 1.73 lacs and raised her like a child. He said that he kept getting offers to sell his buffalo and a farmer from Jind had offered me a huge amount. “I also got an offer of Rs 51 lacs from a farmer” he said.

When asked about her diet, Sukhvir Singh said “ channa, soyabean and quinoa. Mustard oil mixed with jiggery (gur) helps in increasing milk production” he replied.

Sukhvir Singh said that “Haryana’s Saraswati created world record on Indian Punjab soil; broke Pakistan’s world record”. He further divulged that this seven year old saraswati has won 13 prizes at different fairs so far. She has also won a ‘beauty pageant’during a contest held in Maharashtra in February last year.
