Haryana DGP ordered enquiry by IG to verify molestation charges against Panchkula police

Director General of Police, Haryana Manoj Yadava has ordered an enquiry by Bharti Arora, IPS, Inspector General of Police to verify fairness and objectivity of the investigation conducted by Panchkula Police in the matter of FIR No. 95/2019 Police Station, MDC, Panchkula.  The case pertains to allegations of extortion and molestation against officials of Panchkula Police.

Giving further details a spokesman of DGP office informed that a complaint was received in the office of DGP, Haryana in which certain allegations were leveled against the SHO of PS MDC and one Home Guard working in Police Station.  Immediately on receipt of the complaint the Commissioner of Police, Panchkula was directed to take necessary action on the complaint leading to registration of criminal case at Police Station MDC Panchkula.  The Police acted swiftly and arrested the Home Guard against whom the allegations of extorting money and molesting the Manager of the Beauty Parlour had been leveled. Further, Inspector Ravi Kant SHO of Police Station whose name was figured in the FIR was immediately transferred to Police Lines, Panchkula to ensure objectivity and fairness of the probe.

Haryana DGP ordered enquiry by IG to verify molestation charges against Panchkula police and SHO was subsequently placed under suspension also. Further investigation in the case is being done.
