153 Roll of Honour, 242 College Colour awarded to students of Khalsa College Patiala

Annual Prize Distribution Function was organized at Khalsa College, Patiala today during which 153 Roll of Honour and 242 College Colour were awarded to the students. Dr. Pawan Kumar Singla, Punjab Information Commissioner graced the occasion with his presence as chief guest. Dr. Ravinderjit Singh presented awards for academics, Dr. Harvinder Kaur for Cultural Activities, Dr. Gursharan Singh Gill for Sports, Dr. Jagtar Singh and Prof. Sapna for NSS, Dr. Nishan Singh for NCC Army Wing and Prof. Baldev Singh presented awards for NCC Air Wing. Under the scheme ‘Sadi Beti Sada Maan’, the girl students of the college were encouraged by awarding Mata Gujri Award of Excellence, Mata Ganga Best Performance Award, Mata Sahib Kaur Best Performance Award, Mata Khivi Best Performance Award and Mata Sulakhni Best Performance Award to five best girl students of the college. Five teachers of the college, Prof. Sukhmeen Kaur, Prof. Gurpal Singh, Prof. Rajdeep Singh Dhaliwal, Dr. Tejinder Pal Singh and Prof. Gurjeet Kaur were honoured for presenting papers in International Conferences.

Dr. Pawan Kumar Singla congratulated all the students and encouraged them by saying that only hard work is the key to success. Education not only provides knowledge of books but also helps in gaining confidence and in connecting with the whole society. He motivated the students to connect with their cultural and language and to save environment.

College Principal Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha welcomed the chief guest and other guests of the college and also read the annual report. He said in his speech that Khalsa College Patiala has carved a special place in the field of higher education with the continuous efforts and hard work of staff members. The college was awarded Most Trusted Educational Institution in North India-2019 by International Brand Consulting Corporation America and also honoured with Asian Education Award-2019 by International Brand Consulting Corporation America at Bangkok. Besides Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biotechnology Departments of the college were selected under Star College Scheme by DBT, New Delhi. He also said that on one side, the college began many new courses related to Skill Development and on the other side the college also made special efforts to maintain cultural values and tradition.
