CIIS Students organized Cold Buffet Theme Luncheon
Continental Institutes for International Studies (CIIS) Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) students mesmerized the guests with mouthwatering delicious dishes by organizing ‘Cold Buffet’ Theme Luncheon at their restaurant Amrosia. More than 60 guests tickled their test buds with 30 delicacies including Grilled Cottage Cheese Wrap, Chicken Hawaiian Salad, Lemon Coriander Soup, Aloo-chana Anarkali, Bombay Sandwich, Chicken Coleslaw Sandwich, Bruschetta Platter, Bull’s Eye Hot Chocolate etc. Guests praised the students for the decor, ambience, food and hospitality during the lunch.
In her address Prof. Thea Jones (Vice-Principal, CIIS) apprised everyone that the hospitality team is led by Chef Sanjiv Maan, a well-established hospitality trainer with about 30 years of experience including that of head-chef with the well-known brands like Taj, CITCO and partnering the restaurant chain Pashtun. The students successfully completing their Year 1 at CIIS will be given ‘advance standings’ to Year 2 ‘Hotel & Restaurant Management Program’ at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Canada. It will help students to be at supervisory and management jobs in hotel administration, front office and housekeeping, in banquet and catering, food and beverage service, restaurant & cruise services, sales and marketing etc.
In another event Communication Department of CIIS organized a Story Writing Competition in which more than 80 students from different programs participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. The core objective of competition was to develop the skills of creativity & originality in writing among the students. Participants were judged on the merit of story writing criteria. All the students impressed the judges by their talent of creativity.
