Punjab State Power Corporation Limited distribution circle Hoshiarpur has conducted mass raids today ( 22.08.2020) in early morning for checking of connections under the zero tolerance policy to curb theft of energy of A.Venu Prasad CMD PSPCL & directions of Director Distribution Er DPS Grewal & CE/North Er. Jaininder Dania.
Er PS Khamba Deputy Chief Engineer, Hoshiarpur circle disclosed that total 23 no of checking teams comprising XENs and SDOs of circle has checked 1683 no of connections of various categories of consumers in Hoshiarpur city and a total amount of Rs 25.72 lakh charged, out of which 16 no of cases of theft of energy and amount charged is 18.47 lakh and 112 no of cases of unauthorized load for which amount of Rs. 7.25 lakh also charged.
He said that campaign against theft of power shall be continued in future also and consumers are requested not to indulge in theft of energy as this leads to heavy fines, police action and more over harassment to honest consumers.
