PSMDTA paid tribute to Covid warrior Dr Ankit

Punjab State Medical & Dental Teachers Association Patiala Unit has mourned the untimely death of Dr Ankit Kumar, alumni of Government Medical College Patiala who lost his life at very young age fighting Covid-19 in Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Faridkot. In a joint press release, Dr DS Bhullar, president and Dr Darshanjit Singh Walia, general secretary of the association said the Covid-19 warrior Dr Ankit, who was perusing his post-graduation studies in surgery, has made supreme sacrifice of his life while on duty treating covid-19 patients which otherwise is a great loss to the family and the medical fraternity. He lived a short but meaningful and unforgettable life.
The faculty of Government Medical College Patiala also participated in the candle march organized by Resident Doctors Association of Rajindra Hospital Patiala and has appealed to the Chief Minister Punjab Capt. Amrinder Singh to declare Dr Ankit Kumar a Covid warrior and fifty lakh insurance aid to the family along with reserving one MBBS seat in a state medical college for nomination of one of his sisters.
The association has also welcomed the decision of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Faridkot to refund the post-graduation course fee of Dr Ankit which will be a big relief to the family, said Bhullar.
