Punjab’s first Aeronautical Engg College to start admissions
Immediately after Punjab government signed a MOU ( memorandum of understanding) with Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), its vice-chancellor Prof. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar visited Patiala to oversee arrangements to start new academic session at state’s first Aeronautical institute -Punjab State Aeronautical Engineering College (PSAEC) situated at Patiala Sangrur road.
After overseeing the work he addressed the officers and faculty of the college, Prof. Ishar said aviation industry is the fastest growing industry worldwide as well as in India and Patiala is also coming on the national map as the college would start functioning from the current academic session with the commencement of B.Tech (Aeronautical Engineering) and B. Sc. (Hons.) in aircraft maintenance course. The classes will be started from the first week of August as the curriculum for both the courses had already been finalised by the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University. He also disclosed that the B.Tech (Aerospace Engineering) will start from the next session.
As the college is adjacent to the Patiala Aviation Club it would be helpful for the students to secure practical knowledge and flying experience as Patiala Aviation Club is one of the renowned and oldest flying club. Prof Ishar also pointed out that ground technical staff plays an equally important role in achieving the ultimate airworthiness of Aircraft along with the flying crew.
While directing the officials to work hard to meet the deadline, Ishar said the admission notice would be issued shortly. He directed the officials to work hard to meet the deadline so that the new academic session starts without any hiccup.
Kanwardeep Singh, chief engineer, department of civil aviation, Rajeev Bagga, PSAEC Administrative Officer and other senior officials for the development of infrastructure for starting courses, training facilities and development of an aviation training hub at Patiala civil aerodrome also attended the meeting with Dr Ishar and other officials of university officials and discuss the work-in-progress
