Patiala’s first private school alumni joined as PPSC member

Two newly appointed members of Punjab Public Service Commission Jaskiran Singh and Dr Manpreet Chhatwal assumed their new responsibility after formally administering as oath of office by the Punjab Governor V P Singh Badnaur.
Jaskiran Singh and Dr Manpreet Chhatwal who served as IAS and PCMS respectively in Punjab, said that while maintaining the dignity of their constitutional position, they will work in the leadership of Punjab Public Service Commission Chairman Lt. General (Retd.) Surinder Singh.
It may be recalled that a 2005 batch IAS officer with an Indian Army background, Jaskiran Singh served as Deputy Commissioner at Sri Muktsar Sahib, Kapurthala and Sangrur and later became the Commissioner of Ludhiana Municipal Corporation.
Apart from this, Jaskiran Singh also served as the Director of Local Government and Rural Development and Panchayat and later superannuated as the Managing Director of Pepsu Road Transport Corporation. He has also been a student of Modern School (the first private school of Patiala, established after independence ), Government Mohindra College (Oldest college of the region), Patiala and Punjabi University in Law.
Similarly, Dr. Manpreet Chhatwal is a doctor by profession and works as a PCMS in the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
