TSPL’s CSR initiative ensures Clean Drinking for Government Primary School Children

Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), largest thermal power plant in Punjab supported government school in village Kamalu Swaitch with installation of RO system along with water cooler. This initiative will go a long way in ensuring health and safety of children and staff ensuring safe and clean drinking water for consumption. Over hundred students will benefit from this initiative.
For a long time, the school was struggling with ensuring clean drinking water for children and approached TSPL for support. TSPL’s CSR initiatives are aligned with Sustainability Development Goals and access to clean drinking water is one of the key intervention areas. The request from the school authorities was addressed immediately ensuring a full range of water ecosystem comprising of installation of RO, water cooler, water tank etc.
Addressing the initiative Vikas Sharma CEO TSPL said, “Children are the future of our country and schools are the nurturing ground. Access to basic amenities in school is imperative to ensure a promising future. I am confident that this initiative will provide an enabling environment for learning and development. At Vedanta we are committed to social development and all-inclusive growth for progressive social ecosystem and holistic development of the area.”
Expressing his gratitude for the support the Amandeep Singh, Primary School Principal said, “We are thankful to TSPL for RO and water cooler installation in our school. This was crucial especially in the wake of pandemic ensuring safe drinking water for children. We look forward to continued support from TSPL to transform our school into a model school.”
