MRSPTU commences monthly industrial visit for students of various departments

Training & Placement department of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda commenced monthly industrial visits for the students of various departments of the university. The T & P department observed the month of April as Industrial visit month in which regular industrial visits were organised for the students in the major industries.
Sharing the information, the MRSPTU Vice Chancellor Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu said, the university observed the month of April for industrial visits and will continue to do so. Total of 314 students of M.Sc. Food Science & Technology, B.Sc. Food Science and Technology, B.Sc. and M.Sc.- Chemistry, B.Tech- Electrical Engineering, B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, B.Tech-Textile Engineering visited Verka Milk plant, Bathinda Chemicals Limited Distillery, Guru Hargobind Thermal Plant- Lehra Mohhabat, Trident Group plant Barnala , Sportking India Limited, Bathinda.
‘Industrial Visit Bridge the gap between classroom theoretical training and practical learning in a real-life environment. Helps students to understand the functioning of the industry’, he added.
Training & Placement Director, MRSPTU Harjot Singh Sidhu said, ‘Industrial Visit brings clarity to important management concepts, as student’s practical experience first-hand how these concepts are put into action. It provides an insight into the real working environment. It provides an opportunity to plan, organize and engage things. It provides a good opportunity for the students to interact with the experts. With regular industrial visits, the students are able to identify their prospective area of work like marketing, finance, logistics, etc.’
MRSPTU commences monthly industrial visit for students of various departments. Various department heads in each industry thoroughly explained all the process carried out in their respective industries to the students.
In future our department has planned industrial visits at major industries namely Nestle Moga, Hindustan Unilever Limited Rajpura, PepsiCo Holdings India Ltd, Preet Tractors, Sonalika Tractors, Director Harjot Singh Sidhu added.
The Registrar of the University, Gurinderpal Singh Brar said, ‘Industrial visit for the student is an important part of learning and our university aims to implementing it in the best possible way.’
CRC Incharge Dr. Rajesh Gupta said in future university is signing tie-ups with top MNC’s. He and Heads of various departments of the University applauded the initiative of Industrial Visits.
