Railway Board officials visited DLMW Patiala

Manoj Pande, Additional Member (Staff), Railway Board visited Diesel Loco Modernisation Works (DMW), a production unit of Indian Railways, Patiala

Ramesh Kumar , Chief Administrative Officer (Railway) along with other officers welcomed Manoj Pande on behalf of the entire unit.

During his visit, Pande reviewed the academic performance and other activities of Kendriya Vidayalaya-2, a project school funded by the Ministry of Railways. He also held a meeting with the principal and teachers of the school. He inspected major shops of DMW and appreciated the performance of the staff and their commitment to ensure continued improvement in the quality of products and services to meet the growing needs of Indian Railways.

Manoj Pande accompanied by A.K. Sonik, Chief Personnel Officer also inspected various sections of the Personnel Department and expressed his satisfaction over the working of the department and the initiatives being undertaken by it.

Besides discussing the staff matters with Ramesh Kumar CAO/R, he also held meeting with the members of DMW’s Staff Council and representatives of various associations.

The Foundation Stone of Diesel Component Works (DCW), Patiala was laid on October 24, 1981 and production started in 1986. A decision was also taken that DCW will do midlife Rebuilding of Diesel Locomotives after a service life of 18 years. Accordingly, Phase-II of the project was sanctioned and the work of Rebuilding started in 1989. The name of DCW was changed to Diesel Loco Modernisation Works (DMW) in July, 2003 to signify the modernisation of Diesel Locomotives being done in the unit.
