IMA Patiala celebrated International Women’s Day and Holi

International women’s day was celebrated by huge pomp and show at Rajindra Hospital by Patiaĺa Chapter of Indian Medical Association, which is led by an all women Team this year.
The program was attended by over 200 participants including Members of IMA and women Doctors, Faculty, staff and students of Government medical college and Rajindra Hospital .
Various learned speakers talked about important issues like Emotional Abuse, violence against women, women empowerment and Gender Equality.
Dr Chander Mohini president IMA Patiala welcomed all and appraised all that this year the theme is Embrace Equity which means to provide right and required resources for everyone to grow .
Dr Bhagwant Singh State President IMA Punjab congratulated all ladies and reiterated that for Today’s women, sky is the limit.
Principal Medical College and MS Rajindra Hospital also joined and said that it’s a matter of great joy that at this time in Patiala we have Distt administrators, civil Surgeon,President IMA and Heads of many departments in Rajindra Hospital as women and they are doing wonders.
Dr Nidhi Bansal Secretary IMA Patiala said the talks were very informative and intense.
Dr Ila, Dr Manpreet Kaur, Dr Dimple Sahni from IMA and Dr Ritu Lehal from Punjabi university spoke on the occasion.
Doctors adorned in the colours of Indian attires, mainly Sarees pledged to work against Female Foeticide and to teach our children our moral values to make a society more girl child friendly.
IMA Patiala celebrated International Women’s Day and Holi. Talks and deliberations were followed by Traditional Holi celebrations with Flower Petals ( Phoolon ki Holi) to encourage use of environment friendly Colors for Holi.
Dr Jatinder Kansal, Past President IMA Punjab, Dr Dalbir kaur (civil surgeon patiala), Dr Anu Garg Finance secretary IMA, Dr Rakesh Arora, Dr Harsimran Tuli, Dr Girish Sahni, Dr Dimple chopra, Dr Neelima Sodhi, Dr Rajni Kapoor, Dr Seema Goyal, Dr Monica Verma, Dr Saryu Gupta, Dr Preet kanwal Sibia, Dr Kiranjot, Dr Sumi were among those who participated.
