Punjab’s senior journalists, forensic expert bereaved

Gurmukh Singh (77), former National Volleyball Coach breathed his last at his residence in Mohali this evening after a brief illness. Gurmukh Singh who belongs to village Khalra (Amritsar), remained coach of almost every state’s Volleyball teams. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

He is the father of Dr Inderjit Singh, forensic expert advocate and Senior Journalist Jupinderjit Singh Special Correspondent of The Tribune and father-in-law of Daljinderpal Kaur, advocate and Kanchan Vasdev, Assistant Editor, The Indian Express.

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, relatives and friends of the deceased and prayed to the Almighty to give them the courage to bear this grief and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

Punjab Cooperation and Jails Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa today condoled the death of National Volleyball Coach Gurmukh Singh, the father of Senior Journalist Jupinderjit Singh, Special Correspondent of The Tribune and father-in-law of Kanchan Vasdev, Assistant Editor, The Indian Express.

In his condolence message, Randhawa said that his death has left a void in the arena of sports which is difficult to be fulfilled. He extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, relatives and friends of the deceased and prayed to the Almighty to give them the courage to bear this grief and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
