School holidays in Punjab should be extended by fifteen days: Chandumajra

Senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal and former Member of Parliament Prem Singh Chandumajra has demanded that the state government should extend the holidays in all the government and private schools of Punjab keeping in view the flood situation.
He said that due to floods, school buildings are completely filled with water. Due to which the fear of collapse of buildings is also looming.
He said that the danger of spreading diseases has also increased due to flooding of sewage water in schools. He appealed to the government to pay immediate attention to the cleanliness of schools so that children can be protected from diseases caused by contaminated water.
Chandumajra urged Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to demand a special flood relief package from the central government.
He said that Punjab is not begging but is asking for its share.
Chandumajra said that on the one hand the Chief Minister is talking of not seeking special package from the centre but on the other hand his own ministers are complaining about not getting a special package from the centre.
The Akali leader said that the Punjab government should arrange relief money as soon as possible for the farmers, workers, shopkeepers and all sections affected by the floods.
