Chandigarh gets new SSP (Traffic)

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for inter-cadre deputation of Sumer Pratap Singh, IPS (HY: 2012) from Haryana Cadre to AGMUT Cadre (Chandigarh Segment) for a tenure of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
As per available information Sumer Pratap Singh, IPS is presently posted as DCP, Panchkula.
After the completion of deputation period of SSP (Traffic) Manisha Chaudhary, who was relieved on November 30, 2023 the Haryana Government had sent a panel of three IPS officers to the Chandigarh Administration for the post of Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Chandigarh.
They are Sumer Pratap Singh of 2012 batch, Smiti Chaudhary of 2012 batch and Deepak Saharan.
Sumer Pratap Singh, IPS got UP cadre on his selection as IPS in 2012. In 2014 he was transferred to Haryana on the ground of his marriage with Hairarjit Kaur, IFS of 2012 batch of Haryana cadre.
