Achievers’ day -Government Bikram College of Commerce celebrated its Annual Prize Distribution Function

Government Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala celebrated its Annual Prize Distribution Function on 27-04-2024 under the guidance of College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Kusum Lata. The occasion was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Ashwani Bhalla, Deputy Director, Directorate of Higher Education Punjab as the Chief Guest and Prof. (Dr.)Harjinder Singh, Deputy Director, Directorate of Higher Education Punjab as the guest of Honour.
The Function commenced with lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp by the Chief Guest followed by the college dhuni. Dr. Vaneeta Rani hosted the stage ensuring it as a dignified event.
The College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Kusum Lata welcomed the guests and presented the Annual Report showcasing the achievements of the college of the academic session 2023-24. The Principal in her address congratulated all the proud scholars for excellence in academics and various co-curricular activities.
Prof. Ram Kumar (Registrar, House Examination) coordinated the Prize distribution function to honour and recognize the talent of the students. The students received 03 Roll of Honors, 11 College Color, 75 Merit Certificates and 132 Appreciation certificates. Harleen Kaur of B.Com. III bagged first position, Antra topped in BCA III and Chahat Goyal secured third position in B.Com III respectively in Punjabi University, Patiala. The Award of Honor was also presented to honour the contributions made by the persons from the society.
The day was also chosen for the release of College Prospectus for the upcoming Session 2024-25. The Principal, Guests and the staff released the College Prospectus. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honor had all appreciation for the College Principal and the staff for their hard work, commitment and dedication towards the institution and pushing it forward towards greater heights on the road of success. He suggested the students to make the most of their commerce education in this era of globalization.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Coordinator of the Program Prof. Ram Kumar. He acknowledged the efforts of the Staff, Students and the Supporting staff and thanked the esteemed guests for their precious time and presence. The Program ended with the National Anthem as a tribute to the Nation. The others present on this occasion were Dr. Nirmaljit kaur Deol(ex Pprincipal), Dr. R.K. Sharma, Dr. Tarsem Kumar Bansal, H.L. Bansal, Ratan Gupta, Pawan Kumar Narula, Umesh Kumar Ghai (Alumni Members), Manik Raj Singla, Yogeshwar Singh, Kuldeep Singh (Head Teacher Ucha Gaon), Kanwar Inder Singh (President PTA) and many more to grace this occasion.

The annual Day celebration was a resounding success bringing together students, teachers, parents and the community to celebrate to achievements of the academic year. It also strengthened the sense of unity with in the college community.
