GNDU faculty’s 5 innovative Gym gadgets patented by GoI

The Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) proudly announces the successful patenting of five equipment related the Gym Apparatus includes – Gym Equipment, Gym Equipment for Shoulder Exercise, Stress Relieving Equipment, Hand Exerciser Resilience Equipment and Shoulder & Arm Wheel Apparatus by dedicated faculty members of the University. The patents signify a pivotal stride in digital innovation, accentuating GNDU’s commitment to pioneering advancements and fostering an environment conducive to groundbreaking research and inventive accomplishments.
Dr. Baljinder Singh Bal, UGC Research Awardee & an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Education, has been recognized as a physical educationist for his multifaceted expertise and scholarly contributions. His innovative patents include gym equipment designed to target specific muscle groups, promoting comprehensive engagement for strength enhancement and mobility.
Dr. Mehak Arora, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology renowned for her proficiency as a clinical psychologist, has also made significant strides in innovation with her stress-relieving equipment aimed at reducing anxiety and promoting tranquility amid stimulating environments.
Dr. Bal and Dr. Arora said that the Gym Equipment targets the shoulders and limbs, increases mobility, and strengthens the abdominal muscles. Its incline design offers comprehensive engagement of multiple muscle groups, including the rectus abdominis, obliques, transverse abdominis, and Latissimus Dorsi. They said that Gym Equipment for Shoulder Exercise designed to strengthen and stabilize the shoulder joint without straining the neck, this equipment helps improve the range of motion in the shoulders through controlled and targeted exercises. The Stress Relieving Equipment aimed at promoting calmness by redirecting focus from stress-inducing situations, this equipment aids in reducing anxiety, relieving stress, and serving as a distraction in stimulating environments. The Hand Exerciser Resilience Equipment enhances the strength and endurance of the muscles in the hands and forearms, improving dexterity by strengthening the wrist, palm, and fingers. Stretching until a sensation of tightness is experienced is recommended, while pain should be avoided. The Shoulder and Arm Wheel Apparatus strengthens and increases the endurance of the muscles in the shoulders, hands, and forearms. It improves shoulder strength and stability and increases the range of motion in the shoulder and wrist joints, they added.
