The plastic recycling facility is second such facility established under MASS, following their first recycling plant in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The PRF is the first of its kind in the city, will play a crucial role in reducing plastic waste from reaching landfills and contributing towards sustainable waste management. Under MASS, the focus is on developing the supply chain for low commercial value plastic waste along with implementation of decentralised waste management system at gated societies. The new facilities in Patiala are a significant milestone in transforming societal behaviour towards waste management and encouraging a circular economy. MRF establishment and decentralized wet waste management are being implemented by IPCA in collaborative support from the Patiala Municipal Corporation (PMC)
