A team of 57 officials, including 16 PCS officers, has been deployed in various mandis across the district to oversee these operations.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav stated that no farmer should face any difficulties in the mandis. To ensure this, along with all SDMs of the district, senior officials have been assigned the supervision of each mandi to ensure necessary arrangements are in place.

She further explained that at the New Grain Market in Patiala incharge is ADC (Rural Development) Anupreet Johal ; at Devigarh Mandi ADC (Urban Development) Navreet Kaur Sekhon is incharge. Similarly at Sanaur Mandi RTO Naman Markan; at Nabha Mandi PCS officer Vyom Bhardwaj; at Samana Mandi EO PUDA Richa Goel; at Patran Mandi Joint Commissioner Municipal Corporation Deepjot Kaur; at Ghanaur Mandi PCS officer Charanjit Singh; at Dudhansadha Mandi ACA PUDA Jashanpreet Kaur; at Dakala Mandi PCS officer Navdeep Kumar; and at Bhadsora Mandi Joint Commissioner Municipal Corporation Babandeep Singh are overseeing all arrangements in their respective mandis.

Dr. Preeti Yadav also informed that duties have been assigned to all Tehsildars, BDPOs, CDPOs, and heads of various departments in the district to ensure the smooth procurement of paddy. As of the previous day, 257,875 metric tons of paddy had arrived in the district mandis, out of which 229,374 metric tons have already been procured.

Officials deployed in various mandis said that the procurement of paddy is progressing without any issues. Although lifting was slightly delayed due to jam issues, it has now been expedited. In the coming days, as more paddy arrives in the mandis, the lifting process will also be sped up to ensure smooth operations. They urged farmers to bring dry crops to the mandis, emphasizing that proper moisture content in the paddy is essential for the procurement process. Bringing dry paddy will help avoid any unnecessary delays for farmers in the mandis.
