An ardent shooter from Yadavindra Public School, Patiala won 3 Gold medals and sets a new national record in the 63rd National Shooting Championship held at New Delhi from November 16-30.

Abhay Singh Sekhon, a student of class XII at YPS, Patiala, participated in the Junior Skeet Shooting championship in 63rd National Shooting Competition held at New Delhi. He has bagged 3 Gold medals in different categories. During the qualifying round for Junior Skeet Shooting, he shot the score of 122 out of 125 and created a new record and surpassed the previous record of 120/125.

He has won two Gold medals in the team and mixed team events. During the final event, he again bagged Gold by scoring 58/60.

This dedicated player has already won several State, National and International medals in various previous championships.

Earlier Abhay Sekhon won Bronze medal in Skeet Shooting competition in the prestigious Khelo India Youth Games, 2019 held in January at Pune. He was then selected in core group of Indian Junior Skeet team after his scintillating performances in the State and National championships. This dedicated player now aims to play world championships.
