Aeromodelling,Bike Stunt at Patiala Heritage Festival
On Day 3 of the Patiala Heritage Festival an aeromodelling show and bike stunts were organized at Patiala Aviation Grounds. On this occasion, Maj. General Sandeep Singh, General-Officer-Command, First Armoured Division, Patiala was the Chief Guest. He said, “ Such programmes related to the heritage and culture of Punjab should be held every year. They kept our tradition alive while contributing to the growth of tourism sector.” He is accompanied by his wife Alka Singh.
Chief Instructor of Aviation Club, Patiala, Malkiat Singh, showcased stunts on a Cesna Plane. Officials and flyers from aeromodelling club Patiala President Shivjit Singh Dimpy Ghuman, Manjit Bhogal from Model Aviation Club Ludhiana and former Indian Air Force Group Captain Ramesh Tahilan from Delhi flew different models of Sukhoi 29,Edge 540 Helicopters and amused the visitors. Samina, a TV anchor conducted the stage.
The CEO of Punjab State Aviation Council and Deputy Commissioner Sangrur APS Virk (IAS) said, “ Flying these models usually required a lot of patience and precision.”
Four stunt bikers displayed their dare devil skills of stunt biking.
Director Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab, Shiv Dullar Singh Dhillon said, “Baba Ala Singh laid the foundation of Patiala and we have held the Patiala Heritage Festival and Saras Mela to present our culture and preserving our culture.” He also thanked Maj Gen Sandeep Singh for extending his support.
He further cautioned that “The bike stunts are not to be performed elsewhere or even at homes. The stunt men here are trained performers and children should not do this or not copy them”
Battery of Civil and Police officials along with local residents watched the show with great enthusiasm .
