In a major step towards addressing the long-standing challenges faced by the Punjabi film industry, Ajayvir Singh Lalpura, District President of BJP Ropar, has emerged as a key figure in bringing the concerns of the industry to the national stage. Owing to his proactive leadership and relentless efforts, a high-level delegation of leading Punjabi film personalities held a special meeting with L. Murugan, Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, in New Delhi.

The delegation included some of the most respected names in the Punjabi film industry, such as Hobby Dhaliwal, Manmord Sidhu (White Hill Productions), Dinesh Aulakh (Speed Records), Vivek Ohri (Ohri Productions), Bhagwant Virk, Deepak Gupta (Friday Rush Motion), and Karaj Gill (Rhythm Boyz Entertainment). The team submitted a detailed memorandum to the Minister outlining critical policy, institutional, and operational issues that have long hindered the growth and global outreach of Punjabi cinema.

The delegation emphasized the potential of Punjabi cinema in generating employment and cultural diplomacy on global platforms.

Union Minister Shri L. Murugan welcomed the delegation warmly and assured them that the Central Government is committed to encouraging regional cinema and preserving India’s diverse cultural identity. He promised that the issues presented would be given serious consideration and action would be initiated at the appropriate policy levels.

Speaking after the meeting, Ajayvir Singh Lalpura stated,“The BJP is not just a political party; it is a people’s platform that listens and acts. Today’s meeting was not just symbolic—it was the beginning of a new dialogue for Punjab’s creative and cultural economy. It is our duty to ensure that the talent, art, and voices of Punjab reach the highest forums.”
